Purroch G-Shape Travel Pillow: My Hands-On review video preview

I’ve owned several neck pillows, and this Purroch G-shape model is one of the nicest I’ve used. It held my head more securely than the C-shaped pillows I’ve owned.

The pillow has memory foam all the way around. When I pressed it, the foam rebounded instead of remaining compressed. A hidden zipper lets me remove the outer cover from the inner pillow for washing. That is a practical improvement over my older pillows, which had no removable covers and became unpleasant over time.

To put the pillow on, I wrapped it around my neck and fastened it at the front. It also has a removable patch that covers the Velcro when it is not in use, preventing the Velcro from sticking to the pillow when it is rolled up.

Once fastened, the pillow allowed very little forward, backward, or upward head movement for me. The front stayed beneath my chin and against my chest, helping prevent the forward head drop I experienced with C-shaped pillows. I could also rotate the pillow into another position. Its rounded edges fit me better that way and gave my head even more support.

I sometimes take 12-hour flights, so that level of support matters to me. I did not document an in-flight test for this review, but when I tried the pillow on, I liked how firmly it held my head from several directions. I also found the cover breathable while wearing it.

My package included a large storage bag and a smaller one. I had trouble rolling the pillow tightly enough to fit inside the small bag, so I appreciated having the larger option.

The set also included a 3D eye mask. It was a little thicker than many eye masks I’ve encountered, although it was not as thick as the one I use every night. The contoured side faces the eyes, leaving space so the fabric does not press directly against them. According to the seller’s listing, the set also includes noise-reducing earplugs.

Overall, I liked the supportive fit, rebounding memory foam, and removable cover. The storage bags and contoured eye mask are useful additions, but the main reason I would choose this pillow is how well it limited head movement for me.
