Testing a compact cordless tire inflator review video preview

I tested this compact cordless tire inflator on a tire to see how the controls and automatic shutoff worked. It comes with a needle attachment, and the threaded attachment shown in the video screws onto the top of the unit. You can recharge it through USB-C or use it with the included power cord.

While connecting the inflator, I accidentally released some air, dropping the displayed pressure to about 6 PSI. That gave me a starting point for demonstrating the settings, but I did not compare the reading with a separate pressure gauge. This test shows how the inflator operated, not whether its pressure reading was accurate.

Holding the right arrow cycled through PSI, bar, kPa, and kilograms per square centimeter. Pressing the right control once changed the operating mode, while the up and down controls adjusted the target pressure. The available target appeared to vary by mode. Some of the symbols were not clear to me, so check the instructions instead of relying on the icons alone.

I tried to set the automatic shutoff to 6.5 PSI, but 8 PSI was the lowest available setting in that mode. I selected 8 PSI, started the compressor, and stepped away. It stopped automatically when it reached the target, so I did not have to hold the inflator or watch the display continuously.

The compressor is small and portable, although it was not especially fast in my test. I later let it continue toward the tire's 30 PSI target. I found the unit compact enough to fit in a glove box.

The main caution is heat. During an earlier use on my wife's car, the connection area became hot enough to burn my finger. In this demonstration, I saw a temperature reading of 120 degrees near that area while the compressor was still running. Avoid touching this section during inflation or immediately afterward.

According to the supplied seller listing, the inflator can run on its rechargeable battery or through a 12V DC connection. The listing describes it as suitable for car, motorcycle, and bicycle tires as well as sports balls. It also says the inflator is not intended for large truck or RV tires, puncture repair, or seating a tire bead from 0 PSI. I did not test those applications.

Overall, I liked the inflator's portability, adjustable target pressure, and automatic shutoff. It worked well during my tire demonstration, but inflation took some time and the connection area became very hot.
