I tested the TASVIN food warming mat with several dishes and used a FLIR thermal camera to check how it distributed heat. I set the mat to 158°F and let it run for about 30 minutes.
The controls were straightforward. The panel has a power button, plus and minus temperature buttons, timer settings, and a lock. It displayed seven temperature settings: 104, 122, 140, 158, 176, 194, and 212°F. The adjustment stopped at the highest and lowest settings rather than cycling back around, which I liked.
Holding the lock button for about three seconds locked the controls. Holding it again unlocked them. This could help prevent accidental changes while food is on the mat.
The timer display offered settings from one to four hours. I was not sure whether the mat automatically selected a timer after being restarted. The seller’s listing claims a four-hour automatic shutoff, but I did not run the mat for four hours to verify it.
My test setup included a 13-by-9-inch casserole pan, pizza on a plate, and cups of water. I kept another plate and pizza off the mat as controls. Based on the available surface, I estimated that the mat could hold roughly two and a half 13-by-9-inch pans, depending on their arrangement.
The thermal camera made the heating pattern easy to see. With the control set to 158°F, I measured about 170°F directly over the heating paths and about 138°F between them. A plate on the mat read approximately 139°F, while a casserole bowl read about 137°F. The pizza on the heated plate measured 89.1°F. Away from the mat, the control plate measured about 85°F and the other pizza measured about 81°F.
The readings were not uniform at every point, but the thermal view showed heat across the usable area. The pizza on the mat became crispy, which was the result I wanted. I also checked the control housing with the thermal camera and did not see it heating up during this test. That is an observation from this session, not a general safety finding.
The mat has a smooth silicone surface with raised feet underneath. I measured the complete unit at about 24 by 15 inches. The heated surface measured approximately 22 by 15 inches, so the warming area is smaller than the full exterior dimensions.
Overall, I liked the TASVIN warming mat. The temperature controls were easy to use, the lock worked as expected, and the thermal camera showed heat across the mat. My main reservation is the automatic shutoff. I would want clearer confirmation of how it works rather than relying only on the seller’s listing.
