BlessReach Knee Scooter Review: Comfortable, review video preview

I bought the BlessReach knee scooter after injuring my ankle and finding out that my insurance would not cover one. I had used a knee scooter before, but that older model had no suspension and very little cushioning. This one was a noticeable improvement for me.

Comfort and handling

The knee pad feels thick and comfortable. It feels like memory foam to me, although I cannot confirm what material it uses. The scooter also has a suspension system that helps absorb bumps while rolling.

I weigh about 225 pounds, and the scooter felt strong enough for me. It rolled smoothly without wobbling or making me feel unstable. The seller lists a 300-pound weight capacity, but I only used it at my own weight.

Brakes and storage

The handlebars have two brake levers. Their cables join into one mechanism that operates the brakes on both rear wheels at the same time, so I could control the braking from either side of the handlebar.

A detachable storage bag mounts on the front using two metal fittings that slide into corresponding holes on the scooter. Hook-and-loop material helps secure it. The bag was easy to remove when I had both hands available, and it has plenty of room for personal items.

Folding and adjustments

The scooter can be broken down for storage or transportation. The handlebar assembly folds after releasing a locking mechanism that includes a push button. The knee pad height can be adjusted by removing and repositioning a knob, and the entire pad can also be removed.

The front axle assembly is removable too. After releasing the fastener and folding back the retaining plate, the front wheels can be detached. Together with the folding handlebar and removable knee pad, this makes the scooter considerably smaller for storage. I could put it in a back seat without taking it apart.

Some of these mechanisms were difficult to operate while I was holding a camera with one hand. That does not mean they are difficult during normal use. The bag, folding mechanism, and front axle were more manageable when I could use both hands.

Listing specifications

According to the supplied seller listing, the scooter weighs 24 pounds and has 8-inch front and rear wheels. The listing recommends it for users from 4 feet 9 inches to 6 feet 4 inches tall and says it is intended for smooth indoor and outdoor surfaces. It also advises against traveling at high speed and recommends a maximum speed of 1 meter per second.

My main complaint is cosmetic: the branding is larger than I would prefer. It did not affect how the scooter worked. Overall, I liked the smooth handling, thick pad, suspension, braking setup, and compact storage options.
