Before installing the R.W.FLAME 50-inch electric fireplace as part of our home remodel, I tested it in my garage. We plan to use it in place of our existing fireplace, so this was an initial hands-on demonstration rather than a review of a completed installation.
The fireplace came with a remote, which I used to turn it on and adjust the settings. It also has touchscreen controls, a separate on/off switch, and a timer. I pointed out each control during the demonstration, but I did not test every timer setting.
I spent most of the demonstration trying the visual effects. The flame color and the LED lighting along the bottom can be adjusted separately, providing plenty of combinations. Some effects looked fairly natural to me, while others looked more unusual.
I also changed the flame speed, starting with a very slow effect and then increasing it so the difference was easy to see. The supplied seller listing states that the fireplace has 12 flame and LED flame-bed color modes, five flame-speed settings, and five brightness levels. I tried several effects, but I did not count or independently verify every listed mode.
Next, I tested the heat control. I could feel heat coming from the vents even though the garage was already hot. The output was more noticeable than I expected under those conditions. Still, this was a brief personal impression rather than a controlled heating test. I have not tested how evenly or effectively the fireplace heats a finished room.
According to the supplied seller listing, the heater has adjustable 750-watt and 1,500-watt modes. The listing also claims supplemental zone heating for an area of up to 400 square feet. I did not verify the wattage or coverage claim during this demonstration.
The seller listing gives the fireplace dimensions as 50 inches wide, 18.11 inches high, and 3.86 inches deep. It describes the unit as suitable for recessed or wall-mounted installation. Mine had not been installed when I recorded the video, so I cannot yet comment on the installation process, long-term reliability, or performance in its intended room.
My initial impression was positive. The remote worked during the demonstration, the adjustable flame and lower LED lighting offered a range of effects, and I could feel heat from the vents. A more complete evaluation will have to wait until the fireplace is installed in our remodeled space.
