AquaDoc Non-Chlorine Shock Review: My Pool review video preview

AquaDoc sent me its chlorine-free shock after our small in-ground pool became cloudy and developed visible algae along the walls and bottom. The product was provided to me, but the observations in this review come from my own use.

The supplied listing describes the 32-ounce product as an oxygen-based, non-chlorine oxidizing shock intended for routine hot tub maintenance. I used it in a pool rather than a hot tub, so this test does not show how it performs for the use promoted in the listing.

The container had squeeze tabs on the lid and a foil seal underneath. Based on the instructions and the size of my pool, I added about the entire two-pound container. I left the pool circulating and checked it again roughly 24 hours later.

The water looked much clearer. The algae that had been visible on the walls appeared to have settled on the pool floor, where it still needed to be vacuumed out.

I then brushed the pool for about 30 seconds. After brushing, I could no longer see algae on the walls, and the water remained noticeably clearer than it had been before treatment. In this pool, the visible condition of the water and walls improved after about 24 hours.

This was a visual test, not a complete evaluation of water quality. I did not take chemical readings, compare the product with another shock treatment, or test it in a hot tub. Within those limits, I was impressed by the visible change in my pool.
