Hands-On Review: 52-Inch Low-Profile Ceiling Fan review video preview

I installed this ceiling fan myself, and it was one of the easier fans I’ve installed. The assembly and installation felt straightforward compared with several fans I’ve bought from big-box stores.

The finished fan has a clean, modern look with three walnut-finished blades. I initially thought the blades looked like real wood, and the seller’s listing describes them as solid wood. It also describes this as a 52-inch, low-profile flush-mount fan with a rope-wrapped motor cover. The low-profile shape worked well in the room where I installed it.

What stood out most after installation was the noise level. This fan uses a DC motor, and during my demonstration I could hear the air moving without hearing the motor. That was a noticeable improvement over other fans I’ve used where the motor was audible before there was much wind noise. I found the airflow comfortable, although I did not measure airflow or sound levels.

The fan also arrived well balanced in my installation. I was able to run it at high speed immediately without seeing it rock back and forth. Balance can depend on the installation and ceiling, so that reflects my setup rather than a guarantee for every room.

There are six fan speeds, plus a breeze mode. My understanding is that breeze mode varies the fan speed to imitate natural changes in airflow. I confirmed that the mode is available, but I did not perform a detailed test of its speed pattern.

The integrated light can be switched on and off, and quickly cycling it changes the color temperature. I demonstrated a noticeably whiter setting in the video. According to the seller’s listing, there are three selectable color temperatures: warm, neutral, and daylight. The listing also says the included remote controls the fan speed, airflow direction, and dimmable light, with 1-, 4-, and 8-hour timers and a light memory function. I did not test every listed remote and timer feature.

I also connected the fan to my Bond controller and used it with my home automation system. That worked in my setup, but the seller’s listing does not advertise Bond compatibility, so I would not treat my result as universal compatibility with every controller or configuration.

Overall, we like this fan, and my son especially likes it. The simple installation, quiet motor in my room, six speeds, adjustable light color, and stable operation at high speed made a good first impression.
